Out with the old

Hellooooo out there! If there is anyone out there, I'm still here. It's been quite a few months and blogging just hasn't made it on my To Do list. But I think things are settling down a bit and I should have more time and mental capacity to think about more than just house and work. Or I am just a little euphoric with Christmas Break being only 1 week away.

We have accomplished several house projects in the last few months. It may not seem like much, but for people who usually take 1 year and several trips to the store just to buy a pair of pants, these major changes came fast.

1. First up, we remodeled a bathroom! This project started in August and was supposed to be finished before I had to go back to work... the Final inspection was last Thursday. But we love it!

The old bathroom.

The new. (Thanks, Mama, for the idea to tile in the cabinet cut-out!)

2. We removed the illegal, makeshift electricity running to the mildewy shed (well, the electrician did it), cleaned out leaking chemicals and rusty shelves from 1978, and replaced the whole shed. Now we can get bikes because we have somewhere to put them!

Going, going, gone!

The new, shiny shed.

3. We always wanted to get a new shed, but it probably wouldn't have happened for many years. The replacement was hastened because we were replacing our A/C and the old shed was in the way. Our old 1987 A/C wasn't broken yet, but it had its scares and we never knew when it was going to go. We wanted to replace it on our terms and not in a mid-summer 100 degree panic - plus the tax credit is ending.

The new A/C is so quiet! The old one went BOOM when it clicked off and rattled when it came on. It's nice not wondering if every time it comes on if it will be the last.

We also redid the kitchen sink plumbing and faucet, got a pantry light installed, and fixed the bathroom sink plumbing and faucet in the other bathroom.

And last week, we put up our first Christmas Tree. Now I just want to make Christmas cookies.
