One of my brightest girls compiled a list of her top 26 questions that she was thinking of and wanted me to look them over in case I could answer any.
"Why don't rich people like to help poor people?"
"Why do men make more money when women work just as hard?"
"Why do some of the most important jobs get paid the least?"
"Why do we eat animals? They don't eat us."
"Why do people kill each other?"
Not exactly easy answers. We talked a little, and then I told her to stay kind, keep thinking, and one day I'd vote for her for President. She said, "I didn't know a woman could be President!" "Sure she can," I replied. "Then why are they all men?"

Those are good questions and i'm glad you have such bright students to ponder such weighty issues. However, at the tender age of 8 or 9, I hope she also had some "lighter" questions to think about....
